Project Overview
Cheshire Ground Control recently completed a residential back garden transformation that thoroughly tested our planning, coordination, and execution capabilities. The project was particularly challenging due to severely restricted access to the rear garden, making the works labour-intensive and requiring meticulous logistical planning from start to finish.

The Challenge

One of the primary challenges was the significant volume of waste material that needed to be excavated and removed before construction could begin. Limited access meant all materials had to be carefully managed and removed efficiently without disrupting the surrounding property.
In addition, the garden featured multiple changes in ground level, requiring a robust and visually appealing retaining solution.

Our Solution
Once the site was fully cleared, we installed gabion baskets at varying heights to address the changes in ground levels. This provided a strong, durable retaining structure while also adding a contemporary aesthetic to the garden design.
With the structural elements in place, we proceeded to install the paved areas, creating practical and attractive outdoor spaces suitable for everyday use and entertaining. Integrated garden lighting was then installed to improve safety and enhance the overall appearance of the garden during evening hours.

To complete the transformation, a comprehensive land drainage system was installed to manage surface water effectively. The garden was then finished with freshly laid turf, delivering a clean, natural finish.
